An Apple a Day Keeps The Bad Guys Away

Apple doesn’t like villains. Let’s talk about it! Yes, Apple doesn’t like movie villains, sorry wattpad girlies, Apple doesn’t feel the same way about the dark, handsome villain you’re thirsting over.
Director of Knives out, Rian Johnson made a revelation in 2020 that Apple doesn’t let evil characters in movies use its products. If you’ve seen the movie you’ll find that the suspect in the murder mystery doesn’t use an iPhone and the actual killer doesn’t use an iPhone either but everybody else does. Iphones are only for the good guys, macs and ipads too.
This revelation took people down a rabbit hole of discovering that indeed Apple doesn’t want its products around evil. In the hit hbo show Succession , all of the characters use an iPhone except for Logan Roy, Tom Wambsgans and Jerry.
The hit show 24 also had the good guys using MacBooks for their tasks.
This is a very small detail that many wouldn’t notice and Rian Johnson joked that other filmmakers would kill him for revealing the secret because now when you’re stressed out trying to figure out who the bad guy is , you can just look at what device they are holding.
This doesn’t apply to every movie though because some movies use other brands for product placements to get viewers interested in a particular brand, and some invent fake tech.
So why does Apple refuse to let the bad guy own iPhones? Since no one from the tech company has really confirmed this , the possible reason could be because the brand tries to maintain a clean image by avoiding controversy. Well, the more you know!
