Questions people ask before they engage us
If yours is not here, write to hello@arewaworld.com and a person will answer it.
Engaging us
What does an engagement cost?
It depends on what is being checked and where. A single counterparty verification in one city is a different piece of work from a sector assessment across four states. We quote a fixed fee in writing after the calibration call, and you approve it before anything starts. We do not begin work on an hourly basis and send you a surprise.
How long does verification take?
A straightforward counterparty check is usually two to three weeks. Registry searches, site visits and reference calls each take as long as the counterparty and the relevant office take. We give you a date at scoping and tell you promptly if anything threatens it.
Do you work outside Nigeria?
Nigeria is where we have staff and where our work is reliable. We take West African mandates case by case and will say on the first call if we would be operating beyond our real capability. We would rather decline than deliver a report we cannot stand behind.
Can you act on a deal rather than just assess it?
We can make introductions, attend meetings and inspections on your behalf, and manage a process on the ground. What we do not do is take a commission or an equity interest in transactions we have assessed, because that would compromise the assessment.
How we work
What if you find something bad?
We report it. Our fee does not change according to what we find or whether you proceed, which is the only arrangement under which an adverse finding is worth paying for.
Will the counterparty know they are being checked?
Not unless you instruct us otherwise. Registry and public-record work is invisible. Site visits and reference calls can usually be conducted without disclosing who is asking, though we will tell you honestly when a particular check cannot be made discreetly.
Who actually does the field work?
Our own staff. If a report states that a facility was inspected, a member of our team stood in it on the stated date and photographed it. We do not subcontract site visits to people we have not vetted ourselves.
What happens to information I share with you?
It is confidential and it is not reused for anyone else. The detail is in our privacy and terms page. If your organisation requires an NDA before any discussion, send it and we will sign it.
Executive search
I am a candidate. Do I pay anything?
No. Candidates never pay us, for anything, at any stage. If someone claiming to represent Arewaworld asks a candidate for money, it is not us — please report it to hello@arewaworld.com.
Will you send my CV to companies?
Only with your explicit consent, for a specific role, each time. Consent for one role is not consent for another.
Do you post job vacancies?
No. We run retained searches and approach people directly. You can introduce yourself at talent@arewaworld.com and we will contact you if a mandate fits.
Practical
Which time zone do you answer in?
The client desk is in Istanbul (UTC+3), one hour ahead of Nigeria. We reply to enquiries within one business day.
The enquiry form opened WhatsApp. Is that right?
Yes — the form fills in a message and opens WhatsApp so you can review it before sending. It only reaches us once you press send there. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, email hello@arewaworld.com with the same details.
