Africa is home to diverse cultures. Its inhabitants speak over a thousand different languages, and there is a rich heritage in every region from Southern to the West, East, North and Central parts of the continent. There is a lot to enjoy and experience from festivals, delicious meals, historical sites and more. If you’ve never been to Africa or currently live in an African country and want to explore other region, you’re in luck as I have compiled a list of beautiful travel destinations in Africa.

Tanzania
We are kicking off the list with Tanzania, situated in East Africa; it attracts a large number of tourists every year. It has so many mountains, some islands and beaches. Home to the world-famous Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Zanzibar International Film Festival is held here every July. The official languages spoken in the country are English and Swahili.

Senegal
Senegal is situated in West Africa and holds a rich cultural heritage. French is its official language, but citizens speak other languages like Wolof, Diola, and Pullar. It also has four major ethnic groups: The Wolof, The Fula, The Sere, and The Jola.
The St. Louis Jazz festival, one of the biggest Jazz festivals in Africa, takes place here every year around May-June. Renowned jazz musicians play at the festival.

South Africa
As the name suggests, South Africa is located in Southern Africa and is a popular holiday destination on the continent. The nation prides itself on its diverse cultures, and many people visit for safaris and beach vacations. There is a lot of accommodation available depending on your budget.
You can visit the infamous Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years and learn about the country’s political history or enjoy the sights and sounds of Capetown.

Rwanda
Rwanda is located in East Africa and referred to as “Land of a Thousand Hills” because of its beautiful scenery. It is also home to six active volcanoes.
There are various things to do here, like visiting the national park and seeing animals like the mountain gorillas. You could also try water activities at Lake Kivu. It is the largest lake in Rwanda and the sixth-largest in Africa.

Morrocco
Morocco is a North African country with a rich heritage and culture. The main ethnic group in this country is the Arab-Berber. They make up the biggest percentage of the country’s population hence why Arabic and Berber are their official languages.
Tourists can surf the Atlantic ocean and spend nights in the deserts watching the sky. Moroccan people enjoy the art of belly dancing, and dancers wear tops that are cropped with flowing skirts, moving their weight to rhythmic cultural music.
