Family Drama

The family is the smallest unit of the society. It is where the basic and the first human connections are made. The family is the first real life experience of what the outside world could be.

The family drama refers to the usual banter often emotional and sometimes complex. There’s not one way to describe it as it comes in various forms. It is just as it is seen in reality TV shows, some very relatable, others so unbelievable but true. This “family drama” is what forms the fabric of different families, what makes every family different or unique in every way.

From generational clashes, sibling rivalries to financial tensions and various individual struggles of each member of the family, the list goes on and on. It is characterized by the arguments, misunderstood statements, and the unresolved or hidden issues.

Generational clashes could be between what we often refer to as “old school” and “new school”. Of course disagreements and perspectives about life and choices of these two variables are bound to differ and this can lead to tension within the family but finding the common ground is the solution.

Another common “saga” is the continuous struggle for attention and family resources that occurs between siblings and this appears as a form of rivalry. Everyone trying to prove themselves prove their worth especially their roles as regard birth right. Finances are also part of it, not to mention divorce, separation and public scandals.

When you talk about family drama people always focus on the negative part forgetting there’s the funny and crazy part of it which also contributes to the family strength and bond.

Family drama often highlights the conflict but it also attest to the resilience of the family. While some may argue that there’s no drama in their family. I dare to say they are been naive, because any family with no drama is not truly a Family.
