Tips For Avoiding Acne Breakouts

Acne/pimple breakouts are not pleasant and could be a source of insecurity for many. So today, I will be providing tips to prevent acne breakouts if you are prone to them.
Keep Your Face Clean
Even if you donʼt experience acne, it is essential to wash your face twice daily to remove dead skin cells, impurities and too much oil from the surface of your skin.
Use warm, not hot water and a mild facial cleanser/soap. Scrub your skin lightly, rinse well, and dry with a clean towel.
Moisturize
Many acne products contain ingredients that dry out the skin, so ensure you use a moisturizer that minimizes dryness and peeling. There are moisturizers for every skin type. Use one that best suits yours; also, look out for “noncomedogenic” on the label, which means it wouldnʼt cause acne.
Use Little Makeup
Avoid wearing a lot of makeup when you have a breakout; if you do, ensure that you wash it off at the end of the day.
Keep Your Hands Off Your Face
Avoid touching your face or supporting your cheeks or chin with your hands. It could spread bacteria and irritate your facial skin. If you are the type to pop your pimples, stop. It could lead to scarring and infection. Watch What You Eat
Certain foods make you more prone to an acne breakout, and experts agree that greasy and junk food could increase your chances of breaking out. Eat more fruits and vegetables.
Stay Out Of Sun
If you can, avoid the sun as ultraviolet rays can increase inflammation and redness and cause hyperpigmentation. Some acne medications may make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Get yourself a nice bottle of sunscreen and apply it faithfully if staying out of the sun is impossible for you.
Relax
Acne can also be induced by stress. Find out what is causing you stress and try to resolve it.
But donʼt take my word for it; you can visit a dermatologist if you have severe acne for better ways to deal with it.
