Life is hard there is no debating that and adulting is especially hard because you are now fully responsible for yourself and there is no manual to teach you how to cope with it. There is nobody that has it figured out so donʼt feel like a loser because everyone is doing great and you are not. Luckily there are a few things you can do to ease the burden of the growing pains we all feel and I’ve rounded up some of them for you to help you feel better.
Eat More Fruits
For people like me who do not enjoy the healthier option of eating fruit and would go for candy, try to cut back on that and add more fruits and vegetables to your diet.
When I did that I felt like a proper grown-up not requiring anyone to tell me to eat healthily. Itʼs also very good for your body and as you get older you want whatʼs best for your body.
Drink Water
Yes, we hear it all the time, drink water! But for some of us, it is easier said than done because water is pretty boring. To help develop a water drinking habit regardless of how you feel about water, buy a cute water bottle and carry it everywhere so when you look at it you immediately want to take a drink. There
are some cute water bottles with reminders for you to drink water, you can get those so you donʼt forget.
Spice Up Your Water
Yes, you bought the cute water bottle with the reminders and you still find it hard to drink because it tastes like nothing? Well, then you can add a dash of lemon to make it more interesting and easy to drink.
Wash Your Pillowcases
If you suffer a lot of breakouts despite everything you tried, one of the many reasons may be because you donʼt regularly wash your pillowcases. Your sheets should be washed every 7-10 days and try to wash your pillowcases every 3-5 days. Sweat and dirt tend to build up in those areas and they cause you to have breakouts if you donʼt change them regularly.
Make a Budget
Making a budget is necessary if you want to cut back on your spending and keep track of what you spend. It is important that you donʼt live above your means.
Take Care of Your Body
Whether it is by keeping fit, eating right, getting your hair and nails done or using the right skin care products, take care of yourself. You know what they say, looking good is good business guys!
Stop Being On Your Phone So Much
I know itʼs hard, our phones are addictive but taking a break could be the best thing for your mental health and would help you connect more with people around you.
Cut Off Energy Vampires
Do you know anyone that is just draining to be around? They are so negative and always have something bad to say about everybody. You donʼt need those types of people because eventually they start to rub off on you and you become just as miserable.
Hold Yourself Accountable
This may be the hardest one because it is easy to point fingers at others but we are hesitant to do it to ourselves.
You are human and you make mistakes, it is okay to acknowledge that and correct yourself. You know when you are wrong even if you donʼt want to admit it because you feel shame.
Donʼt Be So Hard On Yourself
That is the whole point of this post! Sometimes we feel overwhelmed and feel like we are not doing enough or are not where we want to be because someone we know seems to be doing better. Remember folks, comparison is a thief of joy. Take things one day at a time and accomplish them the best way you know how. You are on your journey and as long as you keep working at it youʼll achieve what you set out to.
